What this site is
A set of educational calculators. They apply published, ordinary arithmetic — loan amortisation, qualifying ratios, present and future value — to figures you supply, and explain what the arithmetic means.
What it is not
It is not financial advice, credit counselling, debt adjusting, mortgage advice, investment advice or tax advice. Nothing here creates a professional or fiduciary relationship of any kind, and no result should be treated as a statement of what a lender will do, what you will be approved for, or what you should buy.
Nothing on this site is an offer of credit, a solicitation for credit, or an application. We are not a lender, broker, servicer, debt settlement company or credit repair organisation, and we do not introduce you to any.
Accuracy
The calculations are performed carefully and the method is published so you can check it. Even so, results depend entirely on the figures you enter and on assumptions that may not match your accounts. Minimum-payment formulas differ by issuer, underwriting guidelines differ by lender and change over time, promotional terms carry conditions we cannot see, and depreciation is an estimate rather than a valuation.
No warranty is given that any result is accurate, complete, current or suitable for your situation. Verify anything that matters against your own statements, your loan documents and a qualified professional before acting on it.
Decisions with real consequences
The decisions these tools touch — which debt to clear, whether to accept a consolidation offer, whether to buy a car with cash — can affect your credit, your ability to obtain a mortgage and your financial position for years. Treat the output as one input into that decision, alongside advice from someone who can see your whole file.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any loss arising from use of this site or reliance on its output, including any decision to take, refuse, accelerate, delay or restructure any debt or purchase.
Fair use
Use the calculators as much as you like, for yourself or when helping someone else. Do not scrape the site at volume, republish it as your own, or present its output as professional advice you have provided.
Advertising
This site carries third-party display advertising. Advertisements are not endorsements, we do not control which advertisers appear, and advertisers have no influence over the calculations or the guidance. An advert for a consolidation loan appearing next to a page that says consolidation is the wrong answer is exactly that: an advert.
